DMP files 1,590 cases against traffic rules violators

DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) -Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 1,590 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital over the past day.

The DMP has been conducting drives against traffic rule violations in the city to bring the traffic management system under proper discipline, according to a statement issued today by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division.

The statement said 400 motor vehicles were seized and 193 others were  during the daylong campaign on November 24.

It added that several traffic divisions operated drives across the capital.

According to the DMP release, Motijheel Traffic Division filed 371 cases, Wari Division registered 85 cases, Tejgaon Division filed 247 cases, Mirpur Division filed 157 cases, Gulshan Division filed 239 cases, Uttara Division registered 246 cases, Ramna Division filed 113 cases, and Lalbagh Division registered 132 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.

The DMP said the drives will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's street
