DHAKA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by Shaheed Firoz Ahmed's ailing wife for treatment.

On Monday, under the directives of Tarique Rahman and on the advice of his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, a BNP delegation met Firoza Akhter, the ailing wife of Shaheed Firoz Ahmed, who was killed in the 2024 July uprising. 

Under the leadership of BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and 'Amra BNP Paribar’ Chief Adviser Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amra BNP Paribar convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon, its advisers Abul Kashem and Engineer Mostafa-e-Zaman Selim, member secretary agriculturist Mokchedul Momin Mithun and members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Shakil Ahmed, Farhad Ali Sajib and Shahadat Hossain were present at a humanitarian programme in the capital's Lalmatia area.

BNP Central Health Affairs secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam, Rangpur Divisional assistant organising secretary Principal Aminul Islam, National Executive Committee member Mahbubul Islam Mahbub, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal Vice-President Dr Zahidul Kabir Zahid, Swechchhasebak Dal leader Tushar Ahmed, and Chhatra Dal leaders Misbaul Alam, Mashiur Rahman Mahan and Abdullah Al Misbah were also present, among others.
