DHAKA, March 04, 2026 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered the seizure of tax documents of Md Anwarul Islam, an assistant engineer of the Mujib Kella project under the Department of Disaster Management, and his wife Tahmina Akter.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order following a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition, an investigation officer has been appointed to probe allegations that Md Anwarul Islam accumulated assets beyond known sources of income through bribery and corruption.

During the inquiry, collected evidence indicated that both Anwarul Islam and his wife Tahmina Akter are registered taxpayers. The ACC stated that seizure of their tax records is necessary for the sake of a fair and proper investigation.
