Coast guard strengthens security for ‘Maha Ashtami Snan Festival’ in Narayanganj

DHAKA, March 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Coast Guard has reinforced security measures on the occasion of the ‘Maha Ashtami Snan Festival’ of the Hindu community at Langalband in the district.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan disclosed the information this afternoon.

He said the Coast Guard has taken special security measures for the Ashtami Snan Festival held at Langalband in Narayanganj.

He said the festival has drawn a large number of pilgrims and visitors from home and abroad. To ensure their overall safety, the Coast Guard Station Pagla has implemented special security arrangements in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.

In addition, regular patrols have been intensified, and a diving team has been kept on standby to prevent any untoward incidents. These security measures will remain in force until the conclusion of the festival.

He also expressed the hope that people of all religions will be able to celebrate their respective religious festivals in a peaceful, orderly, and safe manner.
