BAF holds certificate distribution of 75th Flight Safety Officers Course

DHAKA, April 9, 2026 (BSS) – The certificate distribution ceremony of the 75th Flight Safety Officers (FSO) Course of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was held today at the Flight Safety Institute (FSI) at Air Force Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Planning) Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanvir Khan attended the function as the chief guest and distributed certificates and trophies among the trained officers, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) release issued here this evening.

A total of 22 trainee officers participated in the course, including 18 from BAF, two from the Bangladesh Army, and one each from the air forces of Sri Lanka and Qatar.

The 10-week-long course is designed to train personnel in aviation safety management, accident prevention, and Safety Management Systems (SMS). It typically includes subjects such as human factors, aerodynamics, and accident investigation techniques.

During the ceremony, the chief guest awarded the ‘Chief of Air Staff’s Trophy’ and certificate to Flight Lieutenant Saraf Tasneem (Engineering) for achieving the best performance in the course.

Congratulating the participants, he urged them to carry out their duties with professionalism and dedication, the ISPR added.

Senior BAF officials and invited guests, including representatives from the Bangladesh Army and the Qatar Embassy, were also present on the occasion.
