13,500 litres of diesel seized in N'ganj, two arrested

NARAYANGANJ, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court has seized around 13,500 litres of illegally stored diesel and two tanker lorries in Siddhirganj of the district. 

Two employees of a private company were also arrested on charges of illegal fuel trading.

The drive was conducted on Friday evening at Burma Stand area in Siddhirganj, led by Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Foyez Uddin, with support from law enforcement agencies.

The arrested individuals were identified as Md Jasim, 38, of the Godnail area and Mohammad Hossain Bhuiyan, 30, of the Burma Stand area. They are employees of Mehedi Enterprise. 

According to mobile court sources, the company was illegally selling fuel to customers by using tanker lorries fitted with meters without proper authorization or valid documents, in violation of existing laws and regulations.

The seized diesel and tanker lorries were handed over to Siddhirganj Police Station. 

The UNO said drives against illegal fuel storage and trading will continue.
