20 platoons of BGB deployed in capital for Pahela Baishakh celebrations

DHAKA, Apr 14, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 20 platoons in different important areas of the capital to ensure overall security marking the celebration of Bangla New Year 1433.

According to a BGB press release, the measure has been taken to ensure smooth celebration of Pahela Baishakh in a festive atmosphere with spontaneous participation of people.

The areas include - Ramna Batamul and its adjacent areas, Hotel InterContinental, Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, Engineers Institution gate, Doel Chattar, Shahbagh National Museum, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, Manik Mia Avenue and Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi.

The release further said BGB is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to ensure overall security in the capital.

BGB has called upon all citizens to celebrate the Bangla New Year in a peaceful, disciplined and secure environment.
