CHATTOGRAM, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated a mural depicting the game of wrestling at Laldighi square here today. 

The mural has been constructed at the square, symbolizing the Bolikhela, the fighting tradition of Bir Chattala, and the pursuit of justice in the court. The purpose of this mural is to preserve and pass on the history of Bolikhela in Chattogram to future generations.

Before the inauguration, Shawkat Anwar Badal, grandson of Abdul Jabbar Saudagar, highlighted various aspects of wrestling at a press conference held at the Chattogram City Corporation Public Library auditorium. 

During the press conference, the city mayor informed reporters that he had been requested to declare the square as Abdul Jabbar Square, and he had agreed to do so. He officially inaugurated the square during the event.

It was announced during the press conference that Abdul Jabbar's historical Bolikhela and Baisakhi Fair will commence on Friday.
