PANCHAGARH, May 25, 2026 (BSS) - Import and export activities at Banglabandha Land Port, the country’s only four-country land port, will remain suspended for seven consecutive days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

According to a notice issued by the Banglabandha Land Port C&F Agent Association, import-export operations will remain closed from May 25 to May 31 (Sunday). Normal trading activities are scheduled to resume at 9:00 am on June 1.

However, passenger movement through the port using valid passports and visas will continue uninterrupted during the holiday period.

The announcement was made in a notification signed by Association President Rezaul Karim Reza and General Secretary Sadequl Islam on Sunday night.

The notice said that the decision was taken during a meeting held on May 18 with traders and C&F agents involved in import-export activities. Indian traders operating through the port were also informed about the temporary suspension.

Abul Kalam Azad, manager and in-charge of the land port, said that the shutdown was implemented in line with the decision taken by traders ahead of Eid-ul-Azha festivities.

Meanwhile, Kefayetul Wares, in-charge of the Banglabandha Immigration Police, confirmed that immigration services for international passengers would remain operational despite the closure of cargo operations.

He also said that security measures in and around the port area have been strengthened to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the holiday period.
