DHAKA, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Customs House, Chattogram has initiated the
online auction of 102 containers of uncleared and auctionable goods in a move
aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and capacity of Chattogram
Port, easing container congestion, ensuring physical and financial security,
and preventing wastage of state resources.

According to a press release issued by the National Board of Revenue (NBR)
today, the auction will be conducted through the e-Auction system as part of
the customs authority's ongoing efforts to regularly dispose of uncleared
goods stored at the port.

Under Special Auction Order No. 82/2025/Customs issued by the NBR, a total of
102 containers under 44 lots will be sold through e-Auction-6/2026 during
June 2026.

The auctioned items include various types of chemicals, machinery and spare
parts, paper products, freezers, generators, limestone, fabrics,
transformers, quartz powder, household goods and other merchandise.

The press release said no reserved value has been fixed for the consignments
included in the auction.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the auction process will be
carried out entirely through a digital platform. Prospective bidders will
have the opportunity to physically inspect the goods before placing bids
online to make the process more competitive.

Interested buyers will be able to register and submit bids online through the
official Bangladesh Customs e-Auction portal. However, pay orders for
deposits and other required documents must also be submitted physically in
the tender box.

Successful bidders will have to clear the goods in compliance with the
applicable provisions of the Import Policy Order 2021-2024, the release
added.

The tender box for e-Auction-6/2026 will be opened at 11:00 am on June 18,
2026. Bidders have been requested to visit the e-Auction portal for detailed
information regarding the auction.

The NBR said such auction activities will continue in a bid to free
Chattogram Port from container congestion.
