JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested Diluar Hossain, joint general secretary of Jahangirnagar University unit of the
banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), on allegations of involvement in planned subversive activities.

According to police sources, Diluar was arrested during a drive conducted by the Detective Branch (DB) of Police in the Mymensingh town area on Monday

The operation was carried out over allegations of his involvement in current activities centered on the anniversary of Awami League on June 23 as the
government banned all activities of the Awami League and its associated and affiliated organisations.

Confirming the matter, Mymensingh District DB Inspector Mahbubul Haque said, "Diluar Hossain had been arrested on charges of involvement in subversive
activities and was later handed over to Kotwali Police Station for further legal proceedings."

involvement in attacks on protesting teachers and students during the July Mass Uprising.

They also said several cases, including an attempted murder case filed with Ashulia Police Station in Dhaka district, are pending against him in
connection with the same incident.

Diluar was also accused of involvement in various criminal activities, including extortion from three whilers (Leguna), public transport operators
