Three more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Three more patients have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,135 new measles cases were reported nationwide, while 126 confirmed patients were admitted to hospitals, a DGHS press release said today.

The release added that 78,716 suspected measles patients have so far been admitted to hospitals since March 15. Of them, 74,971 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.

A total of 94,764 suspected measles cases and 11,297 confirmed cases have been reported across the country during the period.

Since March 15, a total of 593 children have died from suspected measles, while 93 deaths from confirmed measles have been recorded nationwide, the release added.
