Govt prioritising technical education to develop skilled workforce: Afroza

MANIKGANJ, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita today said the government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is giving priority to technical education to develop a skilled workforce and create greater employment opportunities.

She said the government has been implementing various development programmes, including the expansion of technical education, to equip young people with skills and make them self-reliant.

The minister made the remarks while visiting several locations, including Bil Pouly village in Saturia Upazila, to inspect a proposed site for the construction of a Technical Institute.

Government officials, along with leaders and activists of political parties, were present during the visit.
