SIRAJGANJ, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr M A Muhit today urged the administration to perform its duties impartially and free from all forms of influence to uphold the rule of law.
"The administration must work neutrally. Political affiliation should have no bearing on the enforcement of the law," he said while addressing separate programmes in Shahjadpur as the chief guest.
The state minister said there is no scope for criminals to receive political patronage under the present government, stressing that anyone involved in illegal activities would be brought to justice, regardless of their identity.
"Crime is a crime, no matter who commits it," he said while distributing food and financial assistance among distressed people and visiting a canal re-excavation project from the Choto Bridge near Manirampur Bazar to Lalapur.
Referring to the ousted Awami League government, Muhit alleged that criminals often escaped punishment during that period, but said the present government would not allow such a culture to continue.
Emphasising transparency in the distribution of relief and government assistance, he said lawmakers and political activists could help identify poor families, but government officials must remain responsible for ensuring that assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries.
During the visit, the state minister inaugurated several development projects, distributed food and cash assistance among distressed people, handed over vending machines for adolescents' health protection, opened a hygiene corner and distributed sports equipment among students.
