Secretary mourns death of agriculture minister’s mother

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) - Agriculture Secretary Md. Salim Khan has expressed profound grief and sorrow at the death of Amena Begum, mother of Agriculture and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid.

In a message of condolence here today, the secretary prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Amena Begum passed away today at the age of 103 at her residence in Dhaka. She had been suffering from old-age complications for a long time. 

She left behind three sons, five daughters, relatives and well-wishers.
