U-14 tennis team leaves for Sri Lanka

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh under-14 boys'/girls' tennis teams left here for Sri Lanka today (Saturday) to take part in the ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.

The championship has begun from today (Saturday) and it will continue till January 24.

Under-14 boys/girls players and captains from hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore and Timor Leste are participating in the competition which is being held under the management of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association and under the approval of the International Tennis Federation.

The competition will be held in two phases with Bangladesh tennis team will start their first phase competition from January 13-17 and the second phase will be held from January 19-23.

The Bangladesh team will return home on January 24.

Bangladesh tennis team: Kabya Gain (BKSP) and Akash Hossain (national tennis complex) (boys'), Humaira Haider Zara (national tennis complex) and Jannat Howladar (Madaripur tennis club)
