DHAKA, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS)- As part of their preparation for the Champions
Trophy, Bangladesh are likely to play a warm-up game against Pakistan A team
in Dubai on February 15.

Bangladesh which are drawn in Group A along with India, Pakistan and New
Zealand may leave the country on February 13.

They will begin the tournament by taking on India in Dubai on February 20.
Thereafter the Tigers will face off New Zealand and hosts Pakistan on
February 24 and 27. Both of the matches will be held in Rawalpindi.

Before leaving the country, the players will have a training camp for mere
four or five days, a BCB official said here today.

However, some players, including national team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto,
have already started working with assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin. Those
who are still playing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will join them
later.

Shanto's team Fortune Barishal though will play the final, it is highly
unlikely for him to get a place in the team. Barishal Captain Tamim Iqbal
earlier said they couldn't fit Shanto in the squad due to the combination.
But Shanto's own form was also worrisome and therefore he has been working
under Salahuddin intensively.

Not all cricketers will practice before going to Dubai as the team management
decided to give the pacers rest after a grueling tournament.

Head Coach Phil Simmons has already arrived in Dhaka and watched a few
matches of the BPL. Spin Bowling Coach Mushtaq Ahmed will arrive in Dhaka on
Friday. The rest of the coaching staff will directly join the team in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE).
