DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh received a scare ahead of its Champions
Trophy when opener Soumya Sarkar suffered a blow injury on his right hand
during the training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in
Mirpur today.

It's the same hand which he had injured during the tour of West Indies and
missed the third T20 International.

He returned to the action with the BPL after missing some matches of the
tournament but today received yet another hit on the same place while facing
left-arm pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury during a net session.

He was sent for scans immediately but the extent of his injury is yet to be
known.

The Champions Trophy is set to begin on February 19 with Bangladesh kicking
off its campaign by taking on India on February 20 in Dubai.

The Tigers thereafter will face off New Zealand and hosts Pakistan on
February 24 and 27 respectively in Rawalpindi.
