Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula to officiate first match of Champions Trophy

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)—Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid will stand in the opening match of the Champions Trophy along with England’s Richard Kettleborough as the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the full match officials’ schedule for the group stage today.

Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula will take charge on field as Pakistan take on New Zealand in Karachi on February 19, the first of 12 group stage matches taking place across Pakistan and Dubai as the Champions Trophy returns for the first time since 2017, the ICC said in a press release.

Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire and Alex Wharf the fourth umpire. Andrew Pycroft will be the match referee.

Sharfuddoula will also stand as on-field umpire during the match between Afghanistan and England on February 26 in Lahore.
In addition to his on-field duties, he has been assigned as the TV umpire and fourth umpire in various other matches.
