DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS)- The 35th National Men's Handball competition, organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), begins at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital tomorrow (Tuesday).

BHF vice-president and local government division joint secretary Dr. Abu Nasar Mohammad Abdullah is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest.

A total of 23 teams of services and district sports associations, will compete in two phases. Eleven teams, split into two groups, will take part in first phase while 12 teams-- divided into two groups-- compete in the second
phase.

Later stage, four group champion teams of two groups will qualify for the semifinals.
 
The participating teams of first phase:

Group A - Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Jashore District Sports Association (DSA), Faridpur, Jamalpur, Gaibandha and Joypurhat

Group B - Chattogram, Rajshahi DSAs and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Madaripur and Mymensingh DSAs
 
Participating teams in second phase:

Group C - Bangladesh Police Handball Club, Dhaka, Sunamganj, Narayanganj, Bogura and Bagerhat DSAs

Group D - Bandarban, Chapainawabganj, Kushtia, Panchagarh, Narail and Dinajpur DSAs.
