School Handball meet begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - Polar Ice-cream 29th School Handball Tournament 
(boys' and girls') begins with plate phase at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali 
National Handball Stadium in the capital tomorrow (Thursday). 

Shah Masud Imam, chief executive officer of the sponsoring company Dhaka Ice 
Cream Industries Limited, is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief 
guest. Abdullah Al Mamun, head of marketing of Dhaka Ice Cream Industries 
Limited, will also present there.

A total of 25 teams will feature in both boys' and girls' division of the 
tournament. The final of the plate phase will be held on September 22. 

The boys' teams have been divided into four groups while the girls' sides 
have been split into two groups. 

Boys' grouping: 

Group A - Methodist English Medium School, BCIC College, South Point School 
and College and Juvenile English Medium School.

Group B - Bangladesh International School and College (Nirjhor), Cambrian 
School and College and Navy College, Dhaka.

Group C - BAF Shaheen Haji Ashraf Ali School, Mitali Bidyapith High School 
and Ideal School and College (Motijheel).

Group D - Wills Little Flower School and College, Manarat Dhaka International 
School and College, Dhaka Govt. Muslim High School and Motijheel Govt. Boys' 
High School.

Girl's grouping:

Group A - Sher-e-Bangla Girls' College, Cambrian School and College, 
Methodist English Medium School, South Point School and College (Banani) and 
South Point School and College (Malibagh).

Group B - BAF Shaheen Haji Ashraf Ali School, Wills Little Flower School and 
College, Juvenile English Medium School, St. Francis Xavier's Girls' School 
and College (Dhaka), and Navy College Dhaka.
