DHAKA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS)-Polar Ice-cream 29th School Handball Tournament 
(boys' and girls') began with plate phase at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali 
National Handball Stadium in the capital today (Thursday).

Shah Masud Imam, chief executive officer of the sponsoring company Dhaka Ice 
Cream Industries Limited, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. 

Abdullah Al Mamun, head of marketing of Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited, 
Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) general secretary Salahuiddin Ahmed and 
its vice president Mohammad Mojnu Mollah, were among others present in the 
opening ceremony.

On the first day, Bangladesh International School Nirjhar, Methodist English 
Medium School, Juvenile English Medium School, Motijheel Government Boys High 
School, Nirjhar Cantonment Public School, Mitali Biddyapith High School won 
their respective boy's division matches.

While in the girl's division, St. Francis Xavier Girls' School and Sher-e-
Bangla Girls' School won their respective opening matches. However, South 
Point School and College of branch drew with the same school of Banani 
branch.

Organised by BHF and sponsored by Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited, a total 
of twenty five schools are participating in the competition in both boy's and 
girl's division.

The final of the plate phase will be held on September 22.
