DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS)-Shakib Al Hasan's record as top T20 batter and
bowler for Bangladesh is under threat as Bangladesh take on Sri Lanka tonight
in the Asia Cup Super Fours opening game at Dubai International Cricket
Stadium.

With 2551 runs, he is now the top T20 batter for Bangladesh while in bowling
he is also at the top of the ladder with 149 wickets in 129 matches.

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman needs just four wickets to go past Shakib
Al Hasa as the highest wicket-taker for the country in T20 format. Liton
meanwhile need just 19 runs.

Both of them will get a chance today to unseat Shakib.

Mustafizur, adorably called as Cutter Master so far claimed 146 wickets in
116 matches at an average of 20.85. His economy rate in 7.31 in T20 format.
In a career, spanning 10 years, Mustafizur grabbed five wickets twice in this
format.

Shakib Al Hasan finished with 149 wickets in 129 matches, averaging 20.91.
His economy rate is 6.81, much better than Mustafizur. Shakib also took five
wickets twice.

The record against Sri Lanka could boost Mustafizur to eclipse Shakib in this
match. In T20 International cricket, he is highly successful against Sri
Lanka than other teams, claiming 20 wickets in 16 matches-second highest for
him against any opponents.

He grabbed highest 27 wickets against Zimbabwe in 15 matches.

Liton will start their match with 2533 runs after missing the chance to
displace Shakib from the top in the last match.
