BCB election to be held on Oct 6

DHAKA, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced 
its election schedule today with the much-anticipated board directors' 
election set to be held on October 6.

At the same day, the president and vice-president election will also be held. 

The election has been postponed by two days, having initially set for October 
4. 

The deadline for councilor nominations was set for September 22 after 
revising it twice. 

According to the updated schedule, the final voter list will be published on 
September 25. 

Nomination forms will be distributed on September 26-27, and submissions must 
be completed by September 28 while the scrutiny and the publication of the 
preliminary list will be on September 29.

According to the schedule, candidates will be allowed to withdraw nominations 
until October 1, when the final list will be published. 

The election will be held on October 6 at a local hotel in the city from 10 
AM to 4 PM with the results set to be announced at the same day at 6 PM.

The president and vice-president elections will take place later that evening 
at 7:30 PM, with results expected by 9 PM.

Incumbent board president Aminul Islam Bulbul and former national captain 
Tamim Iqbal have already showed their interest to contest in the BCB 
president post.

Apart from them, no other is yet to express their interest for the BCB top 
post.

A total of 25 BCB board directors will be elected with 10 form the Regional 
and District Cricket Association councillorship category, 12 from Dhaka 
Metropolis Club representatives category, and one from the 'Others' category. 
The National Sports Council (NSC) will nominate the two remaining directors.

The interested person for BCB president post would have to be elected as BCB 
director first.

The BCB directors will excise their vote to elect the president.
