DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Defending champions Bashundhara Kings were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Fortis Football Club in the opening match of the Federation Cup at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today (Tuesday), losing valuable points.

After a goalless first half, Brazilian forward Dorielton finally broke the deadlock for Kings in the 48th minute.

However, defender Tariq Raihan Kazi inadvertently scored an own goal in the 85th minute, denying his team the full three points from the match.

Kings have won the Federation Cup four times since their debut in top-flight football in 2018. Last season, they secured the Federation Cup title by defeating Abahani Limited in the final.

The Kings, who have set a target of winning five tournaments this season, have already claimed the first trophy by winning the season-opening Challenge Cup.
