Redowan expects positive result in semifinal

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh U-17 national football team left back player Ahasan Habib Redowan expressed his high hope to get a positive result against Pakistan in the semifinal of the SAFF U-17 Championship.

Bangladesh will play the first semifinal match against Pakistan scheduled to be held at Racecourse ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday (Sept 25) at 3.30 pm.

“After winning the last match against Sri Lanka, we have  completed the day’s practice as per the guideline of our coach … as our next match is against Pakistan so we have worked as accordingly…  there has been a lot of analysis in the day’s training session for the next match …. we want to beat Pakistan in the semifinal and want to go the final,” said Redowan through a video message today (Tuesday). 

Team’s assistant coach Mohammad Jahangir Alom Mintu said the boys worked on the weak and strong points of Pakistan during the training session.

He informed that there is no injury concern in the team at the moment and he hoped to get a good result against Pakistan in the semifinal.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh team completed their training session at the Kelaniya Football Academy in the afternoon.

Earlier, Bangladesh reached semifinal as group champions. They beat Nepal and host Sri Lanka by an identical margin of 4-0 goals in the group phase engagements.
