Tigresses leave country for ODI World Cup

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Women's team today left the 
country to take part in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup, jointly hosted by 
India and Sri Lanka.

"We are going leaving the country with an aim to do well in the World Cup," 
legspinner Fahim Khatun said ahead of leaving the country. "The preparation 
has been good. The BCB gave us excellent facilities. Hope we will perform up 
to the mark."

The Bangladesh Women's team will play two official warm-up matches against 
South Africa and Sri Lanka on September 25 and 27 respectively in Colombo.

They will open the World Cup with the match against Pakistan in Colombo on 
October 2.

The Women's World Cup is set to run from September 30 to November 2.

Bangladesh are taking part in the marquee tournament for the second time, 
having appeared in the tournament for the first time in 2022 in New Zealand. 
In that edition, they beat Pakistan to make their maiden appearance memorable 
one.
