Bangladesh Ansar crowned champions

DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ansar emerged as champions in both men’s and women’s categories of the 14th National Services Wrestling competition that concluded at the Roller Skating Complex today (Thursday).

In the women’s category, Bangladesh Ansar dominated the competition with nine gold and one silver medal, securing a total of ten medals to claim the championship title.

Bangladesh Police finished as first runners-up with one gold, eight silver and one bronze medal, while Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party secured second runners-up position with one silver and three bronze medals.

In the men’s category, Bangladesh Ansar continued their strong performance, winning six gold, two silver and equal number of bronze medals to secure the championship. Border Guard Bangladesh finished as first runners-up with three gold, equal number of silver and four bronze medals, while Bangladesh Police claimed second runners-up position with one gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

At the end of the championship, the prize distribution ceremony was held with National Sports Council Director (Sports) Md. Aminul Ehsan as the chief guest.

Officials of the Wrestling Federation, including general secretary Mesbah Uddin Azad, its joint general secretary AKM Abdul Mobin, treasurer Masud Aktar Mobaraki and member Hasna Hena Happy, were also present at the ceremony.
