DHAKA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) resumes tomorrow
(Tuesday) after the Eid break, with Bangladesh national team cricketers set
to add extra excitement to the competition as the race for the title
intensifies.

All 12 participating clubs will return to action with renewed vigor for the
next round of matches in a bid to bolster their position in the point table.

The league will also serve as a valuable preparation platform for
Bangladesh's cricketers ahead of the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
National players are scheduled to feature in another round of DPL matches
before joining the training camp for the Australia series.

Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who struck a century for Abahani
Limited in the seventh round before the Eid break, is among the leading
attractions. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana are also set to return
to competitive action and will represent Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Other national stars, including Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzid
Hasan Tamim, Nasum Ahmed and Shamim Patwari, are also expected to take the
field.

The participation of national cricketers is likely to raise both the standard
of competition and spectator interest. It will also provide an opportunity
for players to regain match rhythm, hone their skills and adapt to
competitive situations after a break.

The league's resumption comes at a crucial stage, with teams battling for
championship glory and fighting to avoid relegation. Selectors are also
expected to closely monitor the performances of national players ahead of
Bangladesh's international assignments.

Mohammedan Sporting Club currently leads the standings with 12 points from
seven matches. Defending champions Abahani Limited are in the second spot
with 10 points from the same number of matches.

Legends of Rupganj sit at third place, also with 10 points, but trail Abahani
on net run rate. Prime Bank Cricket Club are fourth with an identical points
tally, separated by a lower run rate.
