Chinese company Senxin BD to invest $10.81m to produce LED, packing materials

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Senxin BD Co. Ltd., a Chinese company, will invest $10.81 million to set up a manufacturing unit for various LED bulbs and packaging materials in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (Mongla EPZ).

The new venture will diversify the product base of the zone and enhance its competitiveness in the global market. 

The investment agreement was signed today at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Senxin BD Co. Ltd. 

Md. Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Wu Changqin, Chairman of Senxin BD, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. 

Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Executive Chairman of BEPZA, witnessed the signing ceremony, said a press release.

The Chinese company will produce a wide range of LED lighting products including LED bulbs, street lights, spot lights, panel lights, big sky three-sides LED solar street lights, ABS LED solar street lights, explosion-proof LED lamps, flood lights, strip lights, along with packing materials such as cartons and poly bags. 

The company is expected to create some 717 employment opportunities for Bangladeshi nationals.

Welcoming the new investment, Executive Chairman of BEPZA said, "While the readymade garment sector continues to play a vital role in our economy, BEPZA is working to attract and facilitate diversified industries. Senxin BD's investment reflects growing investor confidence in our EPZs, and we will extend all necessary support for their successful operations."

The signing ceremony was attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md. Tanvir Hossain, and Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. Khorshid Alam.
