17.9pc growth of remittance inflow till April 20

DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 17.9 percent reaching US$2,217 million in the first 20 days of April, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.
 
Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $1,881 million.
 
During the July to April 20, 2026 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $28,426 million, which was $23,666 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
