One gets life term for killing girl in Narail

NARAIL, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to suffer
life-term imprisonment for killing a man at Khalisakhali village in Sadar
upazila here in 2010.

Judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court M Sahajan Ali
pronounced the judgment in presence of convict Babul Bala, 49, son of Rabin
Bala, a resident of the same village, this noon.

The court also fined the convict Taka 10,000, in default, to suffer six
months more in jail, said Kazi Ziaur Rahman, additional public prosecutor of
the District Judge Court.

The prosecution story, in brief, is that Babul killed his neighboring girl
after failing to rape her on February 9, 2010 and threw the body into a river
to hide it.

The victim's brother Kalipad Pathok filed a murder case with Sadar police
station in this connection.

Police after investigation submitted charge-sheet against Babul Bala to the
court.

Later, the judge after examining 16 witnesses and evidence found the convict
guilty and handed down the punishment, the court sources said.
