Mobile court fines TK 1.36 lakh for adulterated food items

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS) - Mobile courts here today fined four commercial establishments including three restaurants TK 1.36 lakh for selling date expired medicine and adulterated food items.

A team of National Consumer Rights Protection Department led by its Deputy Director Faiz Ullah on Wednesday conducted the drives comprising police, BSTI officials and fined the owners of three commercial establishments and a medicine shop in city’s Kazir Dweri area today.

The mobile court in the drive found three restaurants making and selling adulterated food items in unhygienic state and a medicine shop selling date expired and adulterate drugs.

National Consumer Rights Protection Department will continue such monitoring activities in the public interest, he added.
