CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 9,  2025 (BSS) - A joint force of Bangladesh Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have  arrested  one person  for using fake identity as a  Group Captain of Bangladesh Air Force, and his associate  from  Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.

The arrested fake Retired Group Captain is Md. Shahriar Sultan Babu, 41, son of late Sultan Ahmed of Piarabagan Swashanghat area, and his associate Md. Abu Saleh Bayejid, 26, son of Md. Sadequl Islam of Tarunbari village both under Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. 

RAB said, the accused person along with his associate went to Chapainawabganj Army Camp for some family litigation identifying himself as a Retired Group Captain but during conversation he was suspected to be a fake one.

At one stage,  a joint team of Army and RAB made a primary investigation at his house and his neighbouring areas  and their suspicion came true.
Later, the Army detained them around  5 pm. 

 They were handed over to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana for further legal actions, RAB said.
