Two-day Science Fair kicks off in Gangachara

RANGPUR, Jan 9, 2025 (BSS) - The two-day upazila level Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2025 kicked off in Gangachara upazila here yesterday with a call for inspiring the young generation in science and technology-based modern education.

The upazila administration organized the event under supervision of National Science and Technology Museum and patronization of the Science and Technology Ministry marking the 46th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair.

Students of 10 secondary level educational institutions from all over Gangachara upazila have set up their stalls projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations and ICT-based technologies.

Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmudul Hasan Mridha formally inaugurated the fair in an inaugural ceremony held at the fair premises in the Multipurpose Hall Room of the upazila administration as the chief guest.

Presided over by Gangachara Upazila Academic Supervisor Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Upazila Cooperatives Officer Aftabuzzaman Chayan moderated the inaugural ceremony.

Gangachara Upazila Engineer Md Majidul Islam, Senior Fisheries Officer Deepa Rani Biswas, Principal of Gangachara BM College Mohammad Nurunnabi, Headmaster of Adarsha High School Enamul Haque and others spoke at the event. 

Officials from various departments of the upazila administration, teachers, students and well-wishers from various educational institutions were present at the event. 

After the inauguration of the fair, a Science Olympiad was held at Gangachara Haji Delwar Hossain Girls' High School in the upazila town.

The chief guest expressed happiness observing the enormous interest of the participating young students in the fair in science and technology-based modern education and technical innovation they projected in the event.
