2 more arrested during operation devil hunt in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - The joint forces have arrested one leader and an activist, of Awami League and its associate bodies from the city under the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt (ODH) in the last 48 hours, ending at 6 am today.

The detainees are identified as Organising Secretary of Rangpur Bangabandhu Smriti Sangsad Chatra Federation Md. Rakibuzzaman Zisan, 22, and Awami League activist Md. Shamim Ahsan Chowdhury Shuvon, 45, of the district.

They were arrested in connection with attacks on anti-discrimination student movement processions, murder and attempted murder in the district, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Media Cell confirmed.
 
Later, the arrested persons were handed over to Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali police station, police said.
