GOPALGANJ, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed and 16 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in the Pona area under Kashiani upazila of the district today.

The deceased is covered van driver Jahangir, a resident of Bankata village under Karimganj upazila in Kishoreganj district.

A bus of 'Falguni Paribahan' collided head-on with a covered van on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 7:30am, leaving 17 passengers of both the vehicles injured, said Sub Inspector Roman Molla, Deputy Inspector of Kashiani's Bhatiapara Highway Police Station.

The injured were taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex and Gopalganj 250-bed hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Jahangir dead.
