RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) – A female student was killed when a speeding battery-run auto rickshaw hit her at Mahiganj area on the Rangpur-Sundarganj regional road in the metropolis today.

“The accident occurred when the three-wheeler hit the victim while she was crossing the Rangpur-Sundarganj road there on Wednesday morning,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangpur Metropolitan Mahiganj police station Abdul Kuddus said.

The deceased was identified as Darul Jannat Dina, 11, daughter of Dolan Mia of Khordo Rangpur area under Rangpur Metropolitan Mahiganj police station.

She was a fifth-grade student of Amtala Vidyapeeth and College in Mahiganj area of Rangpur city. 

“We have already started investigating the incident. Appropriate legal action will be taken if a complaint is received,” the OC said.
