CUMILLA, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled Indian goods and drugs worth about Taka 82 lakh from different areas of the district early this morning.

Confirming the matter, BGB 60 Sultanpur Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel M Ziaur Rahman said this noon the BGB team conducted raid in different frontier areas including Brahmanpara and Shankkuchail, Shashidal, Saldanadi in Burichang upazila and seized huge amount of Indian illegal drugs and various types of goods worth about Taka 82 lakh.

The seized goods include 160,000 Indian fireworks, 110 kg of ganja, 135 bottles of whiskey, 27 bottles of beer, four packets of different types of cigarettes and other goods.

M Ziaur Rahman said that the operation will be continued to maintain security in the border areas and prevent smuggling.
