PATUAKHALI, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries department in a drive seized 14 mounds of jatka (hilsa fry) from three Dhaka-bound passenger buses in Baufal upazila of the district last night.

On a tip-off, a team of the department led by Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Saiful Islam conducted the drive in TNT office area of the municipal town at midnight and recovered the jatka after searching three Dhaka-bound buses -- Moon Paribahan, Antara Paribahan and Dolphin Paribahan.

The seized fish were distributed among local orphanages and poor
people in the district.
