Educated youth of Ansar and VDP being trained: Additional Director General

RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - Additional Director General of Bangladesh Ansar
and Village Defence Party (VDP) Brigadier General Fida Mahmud has said that
arrangements are being made to train the village level educated youth of the
force.
 
"In the first phase, 85,000 youth will be trained. They can become
entrepreneurs to build a new Bangladesh by creating jobs. Measures are being
taken to send them abroad. Many countries including Saudi Arabia are showing
demand for trained people," he said.

Fida Mahmud said this while addressing the Ansar VDP District Rally - 2025
organized by the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Rangpur district office at the
city's District Shilpokola Academy auditorium as the chief guest on
Wednesday.

The Additional Director General said, it is not possible for any other
organization in Bangladesh except Ansar and VDP to reach and work in remote
areas quickly.

"Therefore, we are working on various aspects of the force. We have to take
this force forward," he said.

The programme was chaired by Divisional Director of the Local Government
Division of Rangpur Division Md Abu Jafar.

Director of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP's Rangpur Range Md Abdus Samad spoke as
the main discussant.

Rangpur District Police Superintendent Abu Md Sayem, Thakurgaon 39 Ansar
Battalion Director Abdullah Al Hadi and Rangpur Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mostafa
Jamal Chowdhury attended the programme as special guests.
 
Ansar and VDP Rangpur District Commandant Md Rashedul Islam delivered the
welcome speech at the programme.

Later, four members of Ansar and VDP were given four bicycles and 40 others
were given 40 umbrellas and other gifts as recognition for their good work.

Officials from all districts and upazilas of Rangpur division and officials
and members of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP from eight upazilas of Rangpur
district were present.
