Thunderbolt kills farmer in Bogura

BOGURA, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer was killed after being struck by lightning at Yogirbhaban village of Paikar union in Kahalu upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Mohammad Akand, 55, son of late Bulu Akand, a resident of Sikini village under Sadulapur upazila in Gaibandha district.

The lightning followed by a rainstorm hit the farmer this morning when he was working at his crop field, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kahalu Police Station Abdul Hannan.

Mohammad Akand died on the spot.
