Smuggled goods worth Tk 16.11 lakh seized in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized Indian smuggled goods worth Taka 16.11 lakh from different border areas of the district today.

On a tip-off, a special team of BGB-33 Battalion Satkhira conducted the drives in Bhomra, Toluigacha, Kakdanga, Madra and Hijaldi borders of Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa upazilas throughout the day on Sunday and seized the smuggled goods worth Taka 16.11 lakh, said a press release signed by Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque, commander of Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion.

The seized goods are saree, Indian burqa and medicines.

Sensing the presence of the BGB personnel the smugglers fled away.
