Two die in Narayanganj AC blast inside a bank

NARAYANGANJ, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) – Two repairmen were killed after an air 
conditioner exploded in a private bank in Sonargaon upazila of the district today.

The deceased were - Tuhin, 25, son of Selim Bepari of Chandpur Sadar and Md. 
Rafi, 22, a resident of Ramganj upazila in Lakshmipur district.

The AC compressor exploded at Eastern Bank’s Kanchpur branch at Sonargaon 
Mega Complex around 1.30 pm during repairing, leaving two workers injured, 
said Jahangir Alam, senior station officer of Kanchpur Fire Service and Civil 
Defense.

The compressor exploded while they were working. The duo were taken to 
Narayanganj General (Victoria) Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them 
dead, said MA Bari, Officer-in-Charge of Sonargaon Police Station
