KISHOREGANJ, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS)-Two persons, including an unknown elderly man, were killed in separate road accidents in Pakundia upazila of the district on Sunday.

Police and local sources said, a motorcyclist was killed on the spot when his bike collides with an oil tanker in front of Maijhati Babar Ali Market on the Kishoreganj- Bhairab Highway at 7pm.

The deceased was identified as Rubel Mia , 25, of Shalonka Village under Narinda Union in Pakundia Upazila.  

In another accident, an unidentified elderly man, aged about 60, was critically injured when a truck hit a CNG-run-auto-rickshaw carrying him from behind in front of Maijhati Madinatul Ulum Madrasha on Kishoreganj-Bhairab Highway at 5pm, police said.
 
He was rushed to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician pronounced him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katiadi Highway Thana Abdul Kader Jilani confirmed the incidents to BSS, saying that the bodies have been kept at Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital.
