Banned outfit BCL leader arrested in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Mar 18, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested a leader of the banned student outfit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) during a drive last night.  

The arrestee was identified as Mir Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Imroj, 28, son of Md Jamir Uddin, who is a former organizing secretary of the Rangamati district unit of Awami League. Imroj was organizing secretary of the Rangamati district unit of Chhatra League. 

Acting on tip-off about his location, police arrested Imroj from his residence at Alam Dockyard in Rangamati town during a raid on Monday night, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahed Uddin Chowdhury of Kotwali Police Station.

Imroj was shown as a wanted of the Operation Devil Hunt, the OC added. 

Local residents said that BCL leader Imroj had posted a status on facebook about distributing Iftar in Rangamati on behalf of Chhatra League on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later, the police confirmed his location and arrested him.
