Man killed in Faridpur train accident

FARIDPUR, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed as a train hit him in front of the BRAC office in Purba Hasamdia of Bhanga Municipality in the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Roni Sheikh, 30, son of Mustafa Sheikh, a resident of Saraibari village under Tujarpur union of the upazila.

The accident took place around 9.30 am when Khulna-bound Sundarbans Express train hit Roni when he was walking on the rail track. He died on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Abzal Hossain, sub-inspector of Bhanga Police Station.
