SUNAMGANJ, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - A youth was killed when lightning struck him at Banshtala village under Doarabazar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Saidul Islam, 25, son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of Banshtala Dakshin Colony village of the upazila.

Lightning struck Saidul around 5am when he went out for taking water from tube well in the courtyard of his house, said Md. Jahidul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Doarabazar Police Station.

Saidul was taken to Doarabazar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
