Govt distributes livestock, food among small ethnic groups in Netrokona

NETROKONA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) – The government today distributed bull 
calves, food and medicines among small ethnic group people to improve the 
socio-economic and living standards of the backward people living in the plain 
land of Kalmakanda upazila of the district.

Upazila Administration and Upazila Livestock Office organized a distribution  
programme around 11 am on the premises of the Central Shaheed Minar.

Cattle, bull calves, food and medicines were distributed among 38 people of the 
backward small ethnic groups.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Faizul Wasima Nahat, Upazila Livestock Officer 
Dr. Kanika Sarkar, Deputy Assistant Livestock Officer (Extension) Md. Sarwar 
Jahan, tribal leader Bathuel Kubi, Upazila Press Club President Sheikh Shamim 
and General Secretary Md. Obaidul Haque Pathan were present, among others.

Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Kanika Sarkar said, "These have been distributed 
among them under the Integrated Livestock Development Project to improve the 
socio-economic and living standards of the small ethnic groups. This program 
will be further expanded in future."
