4 foreign commercial ships docked at Mongla Port

KHULNA, March 24, 2025 (BSS) - Mongla Port saw the simultaneous docking of four foreign commercial ships today, carrying a total of 12,822 tonnes of imported goods.

Md Makruzzaman, deputy director of Public Relations of Mongla Port Authority (MPA), confirmed the arrivals.

The Panama-flagged MV Jupiter ship docked at Jetty No. 5 with 4,083 tonnes of machinery, while the South Korea-flagged MV Marigold anchored at Jetty No. 6, carrying 5,000 tonnes of molasses. 

Besides, the Hong Kong-flagged MV Han Hui docked at Jetty No. 7 with 1,970 tonnes of steel pipes, and the Barbados-flagged MV Anka Blue docked at Jetty No. 8 with 1,769 tonnes of machinery.

Additionally, Mongla Port currently accommodates 14 ships, including two at the outer anchorage (Beskric), five at Harbaria, and two at the gas company points. 

These vessels are transporting a variety of cargo, such as machinery, molasses, steel pipes, rice, coal, clinker, and fertilizers.

Officials highlight that the increasing number of ships and diverse imports underscore Mongla Port's growing significance in international trade.
